Islamabad high court (IHC) took strong action on a petition against blasphemous websites on social media and internet and sought a reply from the secretaries of the information technology, ministries of interior, federal investigation agency and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority on a petition seeking a crackdown on alleged blasphemous websites.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui directed an ordered against the blasphemous materials and websites that containing on social media and submit a reply within a week.
Salman Shahid filed a petition through Tariq Asad that, blasphemy is still being committed through certain pages on the social media.
The petitioner said, last year he approached the FIA for taking initiative against these blasphemous running pages but did not see any response from FIA. These bloggers who are the admin of these blasphemous pages are directly culprits under the section 295-C of Pakistan Panel Code.
The petitioner requested the court to direct the ordered for blocking these blasphemous pages on social media that are responsible for increasing the wrath of Pakistanis so authorities initiate legal proceedings against the administrators of the alleged blasphemous websites.
