High Court Bans Valentine Day Celebration in Pakistan

A petition was filed by Abdul Waheed to ban Valentine day celebration as contrary to the teachings of Islam. Today the case was initiated in Islamabad High Court. Justice Shoukat Aziz carried the proceedings of this case and put a ban on celebrations of Valentines day in Pakistan. The court issued orders to restrict celebration of this day on Govt level and public places. Justice Shoukat Aziz added his remarks with the comments that Red Handkerchief movement was started here while Red Rose movement initiated in west.

Justice Shoukat Aziz instructed electronic and print media to abstain the coverage of Valentines day celebration in the country.
