RAWALPINDI: The Indian Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday stated a MiG 21 was shot down and its pilot is lacking.
Addressing a press convention, a spokesperson for the Indian MEA stated, “We sadly misplaced one MiG-21 on this engagement and an Indian pilot is lacking in motion. Pakistan claims the pilot is of their custody, nevertheless we’re ascertaining the information.”
“Within the aerial engagement, a Pakistan fighter plane was shot down by a MiG-21 Bison. The plane was seen by floor forces falling on the Pakistan aspect,” he added.
Moments earlier, Indian media confirmed an Indian Air Drive (IAF) wing commander is in Pakistan’s custody.
India media studies said IAF pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan took off in a MiG 21 Bison jet and is but to return. Wing Commander Abhinandan is the son of a retired Indian Air Marshal, the studies added.
A video of the captured Indian pilot was launched hours after the Pakistan Air Drive shot down two Indian jets throughout the Pakistani airspace and arrested one pilots.
Within the video, the captured pilot could be heard saying: “My title is Wing Commander Abhinandan. My service quantity is 27981. I’m a flying pilot. My faith is Hindu.”
When requested to share extra, the arrested pilot could be heard saying: “I’m sorry sir, that’s all I’m alleged to let you know.”
