Syed Sumsam Ali Bukhari sworn in as provincial minister | Pakistan

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf member Syed Sumsam Ali Bukhari was sworn in as Punjab provincial minister on Tuesday.

Bukhari was administered the oath by Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on the Governor Home. The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and different provincial ministers.   

Bukhari will substitute Fayyazul Hassan Chohan as Punjab info minister, who tendered his resignation a day earlier from his submit as provincial info and tradition minister over his anti-Hindu remarks.

Punjab CM spokesperson Dr Shahbaz Gill tweeted welcoming Bukhari on-board as Punjab info minister.

Chohan tendered his resignation, after apologising for his anti-Hindu remarks as he confronted extreme criticism from senior members of his occasion’s authorities and social media customers. A day earlier, CM Buzdar had summoned Chohan on the CM Home and requested him to tender his resignation.  

Chohan in his apology had mentioned, “I used to be addressing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian armed forces and their media not the Hindu group in Pakistan.”

“I apologise if my remarks harm the Hindu group in Pakistan,” Chohan continued. “My remarks have been on no account directed at Pakistan’s Hindu group.”

Chohan had added, “I’ll reply befittingly to whoever appears to be like at my nation with a unclean eye. Each final drop of my blood is for my nation.”

The Punjab info minister had come beneath extreme criticism from senior members of his occasion’s authorities and social media customers with #SackFayazChohan trending on Twitter for his anti-Hindu remarks whereas addressing a gathering on February 24.

A video had gone viral of Chohan making the remarks whereas responding to Indian rhetoric within the aftermath of the Pulwama assault.
